Lattice Semiconductor has released the soft-copy version of its book Power 2 You, which guides board designers in the implementation of board-level supply management solutions that reduce costs, improve reliability and manage risk, with particular focus on Lattice’s Power Manager family of devices. Lattice also announced four additional reference designs and its new Hercules Development Kit, which enables customers to accelerate time to market for these power management applications.
According to Gordon Hands, Director of Marketing for Low Density and Mixed Signal Solutions at Lattice, customers find that Lattice programmable Power Manager technology helps them reduce their bill of materials and the number of board re-spins, and Power 2 You aims to share Lattice’s experience in applications where programmable technology can deliver these benefits.
In around 100 pages, Power 2 You details the use of programmable technology in a wide variety of applications such as power supply sequencing, monitoring, trimming, hot-swap and power feed. Many of the techniques outlined in the book are demonstrated using reference designs.
To aid in the rapid prototyping of designs using Power Manager devices, Lattice offers the new Hercules Development Kit featuring the Power Manager 1220AT8 device. The development kit enables easy evaluation of the hot-swapping, monitoring, control and trimming applications discussed in Power 2 You.
