Completely Self-Sustained Biodiesel Factory

Got an incredible article today about a biodiesel processing facility in Nevada called Infinifuel Biodiesel, that is moving to be completely self sustained!

Headed by Claude Sapp, this facility produces vegetable oil using algae it grows- which is 1000 times MORE productive than growing oil seed in dirt. It's no doubt that algae is the future for both SVO and Biodiesel production.

"It begins with algae or oil seed being nourished by the sun, fertilizer and carbon dioxide, then crushed or pressed in a special facility to become vegetable oil and biomass. The biomass is added to alcohol, where it is mixed with the vegetable oil and heated with geothermal power in a biodiesel plant, where it becomes finished biodiesel."

The article states that the cold climate of the evenings were a concern for maintaining the appropriate temperature to grow the algae. However, by using geothermal energy it easily maintains a constant temperature!

Research and engineering companies are interested in partnering with Sapp to improve his business, which of course means expansion expansion expansion. Just like I talked about in the last blog about the clean energy industry booming 400%- it is happening
